
Local Service Projects
First Presbyterian Church has four local service teams that meet together to plan how to join the Lord to touch lives in specific ways. If you have an interest in knowing more, please call the person mentioned by each team.
Manna Food Service Team
Manna Food Ministry is designed to provide quality food at a low price to anyone who might benefit from such an opportunity. Whether you are struggling nutritionally and/or financially, of if you know someone who is, Manna Food Ministry is there to help give you ”a hand up” in meeting such needs. They meet the 4th Saturday morning of each month at FPC to divide food into boxes and distribute to needy families in Christ name. For more information contact: Elease Wood - 806.336.1813.
Partnering with Christian Life Center
The team that has the goal of helping the largest Protestant Hispanic Church in Amarillo (Christian Life Center), carry out the mission of reaching Hispanics with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For more information contact: Ruth Whitehead - 806.690.2921.
Homeless Ministry
There will be a new focus with Downtown Women’s Center. One Saturday morning a month serving with Homeless workers at one of the Thrift stores downtown. This team could also serve a meal once a month at Haven House. (Coalition for Homeless meetings – 2nd Friday each month at 12:00 noon at The Salvation Army) For more information contact: Barbara Biehler - 806.356.7501.
“Loving Kids” Angel Tree/Children’s Home Service Team
This group will lead FPC in its mission to serve kids needing extra love through Angel Tree and Children’s Home. Angel Tree focus will be summer camp in July and gifts to the children of prisoners at Christmas. Children’s Home ministry will focus on being a support to house parents who attend FPC.
