In Isaiah 9:2 we read, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.” This prophecy was written 700 years before Jesus’ birth during a very dark time in Israel’s history.  As God’s one and only son, Jesus is a fulfillment of this prophecy for Jesus says in John 8:12 that, “I am the light of the world.” Jesus came to bring the light of God’s love to a dark and hurting world. As we wrestle with anxiety and uncertainty in our current day, our world can seem very dark and bleak at times.Throughout the Gospel of John, Jesus had some critical conversations. Conversations that proved to be truly transformative.
